Daniel Hochstrasser heads the litigation and arbitration department of Bär & Karrer together with Andreas Länzlinger. In his practice, Hochstrasser concentrates on commercial litigation and international arbitration. He primarily focusses on representing parties in complex disputes arising out of M&A transactions, industrial and infrastructure projects, banking and finance, and licence agreements, particularly in the pharmaceutical field.
In addition to representing parties, Hochstrasser is frequently chosen as party-appointed arbitrator and chairman of international arbitrations, most of them under the Rules of the ICC or the Swiss Rules, but also other institutions or ad hoc arbitrations. He has published and lectured on arbitration and litigation in Switzerland and abroad.
He is recognized as one of the leading litigators of the country in professional publications and listings such as Chambers, European Legal 500 and PLC Which Lawyer. Chambers Europe 2007 describes him as "down-to-earth, commercial and committed to the needs of his clients".
